Gay guys locker room

Gays and lesbians - Does seeing members of the same sex in the locker room do anything for you?

No . . . with rare exceptions.

Forget the “inner 6-year-old.” I have an “inner 14-year-old.”

If I notice someone who is my “type,” I’ll subtly check him out. But it’s rare to spot someone that type in a gym locker room (I’m not into a lot of muscles).

It’s never as much fun as endorse in high educational facility, when we had to swim naked and take showers after gym. There were no secrets.

Straight guy here, I agree that even in unisex environments the utility of the whole thing kind of kills most of the sexuality. My first year in university a long chain of events led to the only girls’ combined bathroom/shower being 3 floors above mine, and most of the women on our floor didn’t undergo like making the walk, so they would just give the guys’ room. We had expose showers and very marginal privacy, but everyone of both genders were fairly nonchalant about the whole thing- I even remember seeing a woman I had an gigantic crush on in several stages of undress during the term, and she never managed to be even remotely as sexy or alluring as she was in normal dre

Are Gay Guys Checking You Out in the Locker Room?

As the first active member of one of the major sports leagues to come out as gay, NBA player Jason Collins's announcement yesterday has generated praise from gay-rights supporters. Predictably, it has also prompted dire warnings about gays in the locker room from homophobes like the Family Explore Council's Brian Fischer:

I will guarantee you ... if the ownership of whatever team is thinking about bringing him back, or thinking about trading for him, and they proceed to the players on that team and they say 'How do you feel about an out active homosexual being in the same locker room, sharing the same shower facilities with you?' they'll say no way. I don't want that. I do not want some guy, a teammate, eyeballing me in the shower.

This seems to be a concern primarily among men-women, for whatever reason, aren't half as scared of lesbians-but it's a common refrain among homophobes trying to stoke queer panic. The gay-shower scenario comes up whenever universal discussion turns to gays in sports, and it was also a affect during the debate over "don't ask, don't tell," with some members of the military suggesting separate showering f

The locker room, and homosexuality.

I was discussing this with my friends, and I wish to know what you Dopers think.

So, if there was a man in the woman’s locker room, people would freak. My friends argue that if there’s a queer in the locker rooms, people include the right to freak out too. I PERSONALY wouldn’t give a shit if there was a gay human showering and modifying around me. Even if I caught someone checking me out, (no, I’m not trying to flatter myself, this is just a ‘for instance’), I wouldn’t give a shit. Not everyone would feel easy with a lesbian in the locker room though.

How is it any other than having a man in the woman’s locker room, or a lady in a man’s locker room? I hate to utter this, but I might have to agree with my friends on this one, though I’m open to hearing other arguments and point’s of view.

This is also an issue with transgendered people and people who have ambiguous sexual appearances. Some people who name as female emerge to a casual examination to be male. Which locker room should they use? There aren’t necessarily easy solutions that will build everyone
