I am not judging you or your orientations. I think everyone should love whoever they love. As extended as it is mutual, of course.
It is your game and you can do with it what you crave, but if you want to create a statement, then only including same-sex attracted dating to your dating sim is not the way to do it, if you seek me. The thing is: You perceive excluded in the straight dating sims, so you build your own. But instead of including gays, you deny them even further.
Instead of saying: "Being gay is normal and we should all perceive like we can play the matching games", your sim says: "Straights and gays do not mix. You contain your games, we have ours."
(I really hope you don't feel like I am judging you for being lgbtq+ or for making a gay game. That is absolutely not what I try to do.)
Props to the devs, the audience for buying, the support and open mindedness from everyone etc... Its good to observe this even if its not my cup of tea.
As an outsider I am curious to hear from this audience. What types/ kinds of LGBT games would you be interested playing specifically? More details are superior if possible
If I had to surmise I would say:
- Gender identity exploration simulators or action modeling experimentation without real world consequences
- Dad date sims but for women or those who do not recognize a specif gender male/ female
- LGBT relationships focused version of popular EA game "the sims"
- Education / Awareness oriented "message" or "experiential" games
- idk rly just guessing here

Hello folks. I’ve been a fan of Choice-of-Games but yep, I decided to go the Ren’Py route to inflict–I mean–share, my artistic talents with the world.
I ended up making a demo for a gay male internet dating sim.
If you’re interested, please check it out. I’ve used the various beneficial articles from this site to help me chart out routes to my game. The game will be available December 2013 and is called “Coming Out On Top.”
It’s another game being crowdfunded through Kickstarter. At the moment, it’s gotten a lot of support. Additional back is welcome of course, but if not, critiques from actual fans of the multiple-branching-storyline model would be excellent. I ponder there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy the demo too if you appreciate m/m romance/games/fiction.
While the game is story and traits based, it is an 18+ game due to some erotic content. Please check out the demo if you’re interested. (Link is on the Kickstarter site.)
And yes–the main criticism is not the writing so much as the fact all the guys look like models. I’m afraid that’s due the fact I just drew the guys that way before the game started
