Yuri gay
Yuri is a genre of Japanese media defined by its depiction of “intimate relationships between women.” More often than not, these “intimate relationships” include platonic pastimes like kissing, hugging, and homoerotic dates to the local aquarium–lesbian romances in all but name to many modern readers. Yet, the authors of classic yuri literature are hesitant to label their works as lesbian fiction, or have their characters identity as queer.
This strange ambiguity allows the genre to blur the line between what’s considered platonic or homoerotic. Stories can fall anywhere between lifelong friendships (“they were just really good friends”) to explicit affairs, all without disturbing the lesbian elephant in the room.
Case in point, nearly all yuri is devoid of common Gay labels. These stories appear disinterested in exploring identity politics—the way Western lgbtq+ narratives often rely on to express LGBTQ+ themes—which finds yuri fans stuck between a rock and a rigid place. Readers try stories of intimate relationships between women, but often second guess whether promises of eternity are disguised marriage vows or if prolonged eye contact makes these girls lgbtq+. Is Yuri trying to get back into the good graces of the Diverse community? On July 1, the night after Pride Month was over, the Mexican pop celebrity premiered her gayest music video yet for “Euforia.” The rainbow-colored visual comes on the heels of Yuri’s comments over the past few years that have been seen as homophobic.
From her flashy and fabulous music videos and songs, Yuri was considered an diva among the Gay community, especially in Mexico, throughout her four-decade-spanning career. After halting her career in the mid-’90s to focus on her faith, her LGBTQ+ fans contain been credited with reviving her career in the 2000s when she finally made her comeback. But that view of her and the support began to change with comments she has made in the last couple of years about the queer community that have erred on the side of homophobic.
During a 2017 interview with CNN, Yuriexpressed that queer couples shouldn’t be allowed to adopt children. She sort of reinforced her view on this with her back for the film Pink, which showed a same-sex couple with an adopted child in an awful light that perpetuated negative stereotypes of the gay community. What is Yuri? Gay Women Content in Japanese Media You Perceive Boys' Love, But What About Girls' Love?
You've probably heard of Boys' Adore, or BL, a well-known genre in Japan that focuses on romantic relationships between male characters. But have you ever stopped to wonder where all the LGBTQ+ women are in Japanese media? I know I possess. Luckily for all of us, believe it or not, there is a genre roughly corresponding to BL, called "yuri" (百合, literally "lily").
Yuri features romantic/pseudo-romantic homosocial relationships between female characters. In this article, I'll briefly cover the history of yuri, leave over some yuri classics, and recommend some good anime/manga to start with. After reading, I hope you'll spare a reflection (and perhaps a dollar) for all the yuri you hold yet to properly enjoy. Yuri's not nearly as earth-shatteringly famous as BL, but with your moral and financial support, it could be!

No, the game has very compact amounts of fanservice that you wouldnt notice unless you were actively looking for it. (panty shots, a slightly risque camera angle, and some optional swimsuit dlc. But the fanservice is never the focus and its never shoved into your tackle if thats not your sort of thing
"The characters are kinda young looking. Are the age gaps something i should be concerned about?"
The characters exact age numbers aren't specified, but the game straight up tells you that theyre the identical age. none of that weird stuff youd observe in cardcaptor sakura
