On Tuesday, Aug. 15, Lindsey Stirling will visit Indianapolis for a headlining display at the TCU Amphitheater at Colorless River State Park.

Ahead of her show, NUVO’s Seth Johnson caught up with Stirling for an all-encompassing interview, discussing everything from the first time she fell in like with the violin to the friendship she now has with Amy Lee of Evanescence. Browse their full conversation below.

SETH JOHNSON: You started playing violin at a very young age. Considering how early you started, what was it that initially piqued your interest?

LINDSEY STIRLING: I’ve gotta just hand it to my parents — they loved classical music. They are not musicians themselves, but they loved listening to it. So when I was really little, that was the first tune I got exposed to. We had this old tape player, and I remember the “Scheherazade” suite was my favorite one. I remember my dad telling me the story. It was about this Arabian princess who fell in love with a peasant.

Lindsey Stirling, the formerly local violinist who has sent four albums to the top of Billboard's classical and dance charts, will headline the grand opening of Bell Bank Park in east Mesa on Friday, Feb. 4.

Stirling, who was born in California, grew up in Gilbert and graduated from Mesquite High School before moving to Los Angeles, will deliver at the Tixr Yard, the outdoor live-music venue inside Bell Bank Park.

The violinist's last Valley appearance was Sept. 1 at Arizona Federal Theatre as part of a long-delayed tour in support of 2019's "Artemis."
