^^^ Quite frankly, I can name a long list of homos for tangentially related categories tied to country music.
But New Country is harder for gay men to break into than trannies and dykes. Most end up going too far into the recent and no longer play country., They really don't have a solid audience either. Most lgbtq+ men aren't interested and the LGBT country audience was predominately born female - so, there's a lot of "eww, boys" .. which leaves them a handful of fraus that wish to hear fujoshi spank bank material. so, the the talentless end up in pop while the educated tend to proceed to bluegrass and other genres but often regulated to just part of the ensemble..
If they established themselves earlier enough they can skirt by in a few specialty genres with ample respect. I mean, just view at all the fancy boys of celtic music.

Shay Mooney, announced his own engagement to his longtime girlfriend and former Miss Arkansas Hannah Billingsley in August of 2016 and the couple married on October 20, 2017. The elated couple welcomed their son, Asher, into the society in 2017. As of November 30, 2024, country melody artist Shay Mooney and his wife, Hannah Billingsley, have three sons and are expecting their fourth child. Their children are:
- Asher James Mooney: Born on January 24, 2017, Asher is currently 7 years old.
- Ames Alexander Mooney: Born on February 21, 2020, Ames is 4 years old.
- Abram Shay Mooney: Born on January 17, 2023, Abram is 1 year old.
In July 2024, Shay and Hannah announced they are expecting their fourth child.

Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers Is Married!
Congratulations to Dan Smyers! The country singer, one-half of the duo Dan + Shay, married his fiancee, Abby Regulation, on Saturday (May 13).
A rep for Smyers and Regulation tells People that the couple got married in Nashville, in the evening. The couple's two dogs, Head and Joy, were part of the wedding party.
“The wedding is going to be very typical of the both of us,” Smyers told People prior to their enormous day. “It’ll be awesome to acquire all of our friends and family together in Nashville ... We built our love story in Nashville, and it’ll be chilly to get everybody there to notice where it all began for us.”
Smyers proposed to Law in mid-November while they were on vacation in Hawaii. Smyers tells People that "by the time we got engaged, we were so familiar with each other that there wasn’t anything foreign or scary.”
"Our life has been really superb together," Law adds.
