Sugar Daddy's Cafe opens in Trinity Route, Worcester
Sugar Daddy’s Cafe has opened in the former Concorde Stationery shop in Trinity Corridor in the town centre.
Owners André Oldfield and Sam Robertshaw-Krieger had planned to uncover at the inception of May but were hit by a number of delays including having to get Western Power to reconnect the shop to the electricity grid at a require of £2,000.
“This place was a wreck,” Mr Oldfield admitted. “The floor was all mismatched and we had to seize down walls.”
An accessibility ramp is still existence fitted and other finishing touches are being made to the cafe, but it is now open from Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 5pm, and can be hired out in the evening.

“As a little, queer business we know we’ll be relying on pos of mouth,” said Mr Oldfield.
“We chose this location because it’s central and uncomplicated to find if you’re looking for us, but we don’t have to rely on foot traffic.

A new Worcester lesbian bar, Femme Bar, gets ready to uncover its doors in February
Growing up gay in Worcester County, Danielle and Julie Spring both felt isolated from the kind of community they longed for. Even after the two met and married, Julie still faced homophobia from clients at her position as a hairdresser, while Danielle started several small businesses and slowly grew more comfortable with who she was, but still remained partly closeted.
That all changed during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns, when the Springs found themselves quarantined and watching TikTok videos about the lack of queer woman bars across the U.S. Now, almost three years later, Danielle and Julie are on the verge of opening what is ostensibly Worcester's first such venue, Femme Bar.
"[Danielle] found a not many lesbian bars that were in New York. Those were the closest," Julie said. "The linger are all in places you wouldn't necessarily expect them to be, in Texas or in the Midwest, and you're love, 'Why don't we have more in New England?'"
Opening date set
Femme Bar is currently preparing to open its doors at 62 Green St., the former site of Buck's, on Feb. 9.
